Helga Winter
Helga Winter moved from her native Germany to the USA to study education. She worked in this field before becoming a woodturner and artist in 1984.
At first she worked exclusively in wood, later adding color, paper, fabric and stitching. She forges a link between text and texture, while searching for vocabulary to express what her conscious mind is unable to give voice to.
Helga lives and works in Port Townsend, Washington. She is an award winning artist. Her works are included in public and private collections and have been featured in national and international publications.
