With a degree in Fine Arts from Emmanuel College and Massachusetts college of art, I have spent nearly 35 years creating art. Prior to my being a metal bender I was an animator working on such shows as “School House Rock” the new series and other commercials such as Mr. Peanut.

The last 20 years I grew interested in sculpting, so I found an old blacksmith to teach me the ancient art of Blacksmithing as well as how to weld. With those skills in my tool belt I have been taking junk and reinventing it into something that is functional or beautiful instead of filling up our landfills. I have been narrowing my focus on discarded stainless flatware and finding new life for them. Realism plays a huge part in the total creation. I don’t want you to know it is flatware until you look closely. I have been working on creating creatures that tend to fly or swim. The forks and spoons can be transformed into feathers and scales. Finding new configurations or new norms for these utensils is always the challenge.

In 2019 we moved from Connecticut to Washington and discovered the plethora of glass blowers in the PNW and now I have the glass blowing bug. Glass adds the much needed aspect of color to bring the creatures to life. I have been a resident artist at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma as well as a featured artist at The Gallery of Ocean Shores, I have been selling my art at Boom Gallery & every Olympia ArtsWalk since Fall 2019 . Also, coming up in August of 2025 my sculptures will be featured in the “Earth / Sea” installation at Childhoods End Gallery in Olympia
