Simon Kogan

Simon sculpting
Since immigrating to the U.S. in 1991, Simon has steadily risen to national prominence as a sculptor whose widely acclaimed work - monumental to miniature - reflects a bold, yet poetic pursuit of the archetypal and renders an ethereal quality highly resonant with the viewer. A Fellow of the National Sculpture Society, Simon Kogan has long shared his artistic passion through the teaching of sculpture, painting, anatomy and drawing in the U.S. and abroad.
Simon Kogan began his career in the former Soviet Union, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts from the Moscow Educational Institute. Chief among his teachers was Isaac Brodsky, one of Russia's most renowned sculptors. Sculptor, painter, and printmaker, Kogan's work has been widely exhibited and can be found in private collections and galleries in Brazil, the United States, Sweden, Israel, and the former Soviet Union. One of his most recent exhibitions was at the B'nai B'rith Klutznick National Jewish Museum in Washington DC. Kogan emigrated from Moscow in 1991, and now make his home in Olympia, Washington.
