Madison Haws
Madison Haws is a visual artist, focusing on sculpture. Currently based in Seattle, she graduated from Iowa State University in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Studio Arts focusing on Painting. Later she received her Master's Degree in 2019 from the New York Academy of Art in Sculpture with a concentration on Anatomy.
The pieces she creates are primarily made with a variety of clays and occasionally other mediums such as textiles and knotting techniques. Her work is an escape and she invites others to join her on that journey. The work has a sense of time- by referencing contemporary clothing or accessories alongside naturalistic flora and fauna. The viewer can feel for when things might have been made yet there is a strangeness about the pieces that makes them pause. That pause is the place she wants viewers to keep coming back to.
